Your Aura is More Than A Color... But is Aura visible?

The internet has made aura colors incredibly popular.

You may have seen lists describing:
Red aura — passion, vitality, courage
Orange aura — creativity, expression, pleasure
Yellow aura — optimism, confidence, intellect
Green aura — compassion, growth, healing
Blue aura — communication, calm, truth
Purple aura — intuition, spirituality, imagination
White aura — clarity, purity, higher consciousness

These interpretations are common within contemporary spiritual and aura-reading communities, but they are symbolic interpretations rather than scientifically validated personality tests or medical assessments.

And this is where aura work becomes much more interesting.

Your aura does not have to be reduced to:
“What color am I?”

A better question is:
“What am I carrying?”

What have you been carrying emotionally?
What have you been thinking about repeatedly?
What environments have you been spending time in?
Which relationships leave you feeling expanded?
Which ones leave you feeling depleted?
Are you rested?
Are you overwhelmed?
Are you inspired?
Are you disconnected?
Are you making space for yourself?
Are you constantly absorbing everyone else's needs?
Are you living in alignment with what matters to you?

These questions are at the heart of working on your aura.

An aura is not simply a colorful bubble floating around your body.

And “working on your aura” is not about becoming more mystical, pretending everything is positive, or buying a crystal and hoping your life changes.

At its most useful level, working on your aura is about becoming more intentional about the quality of your inner and outer life, your body, breath, mind, emotions, environment, habits, relationships, attention and presence.

This idea has fascinating parallels with traditional Indian philosophical concepts surrounding prāṇa (vital energy), tejas (radiance), ojas (vital strength), śakti (power or energy), the subtle body and the five kośas (sheaths).

And that is where the conversation gets really interesting.

Because your “aura” is not something you have to wait for someone else to fix.

Your aura is something you can work on.

So… Is an Aura Actually Visible?

This is where we should separate spirituality from science.

You may hear claims that everyone has a colored electromagnetic aura that can be photographed or scientifically measured.

Those claims are not established by mainstream scientific evidence in the way ordinary physical phenomena are.

Likewise, different spiritual systems assign different meanings to aura colors, and there is no universally accepted traditional Indian chart saying:
Blue = this
Green = that
Purple = something else

Color interpretations vary significantly between modern spiritual systems.

So at Working On My Aura, we don't need to pretend that spirituality becomes more meaningful when we dress every idea up as science.

It doesn't.

We can appreciate spiritual traditions for what they offer while remaining honest about what is established, what is traditional, and what is personal experience.

That makes the practice stronger, not weaker.
